An original Third Reich SS General’s shoulder board (single), constructed in the distinctive heavy silver aluminium Russian braid on a black wool backing. This style of shoulder board was worn by generals of the Allgemeine-SS and represents one of the highest-quality forms of SS uniform insignia produced during the Third Reich.
The reverse retains its original black wool backing complete with the correct metal attachment eyelet and a woven RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) issue label marked “504 / 37” between the official RZM logos. This desirable factory label confirms manufacture under the RZM production system responsible for SS uniforms and insignia.
The shoulder board remains in excellent original condition. The silver aluminium braid retains a bright finish with crisp, tightly woven detail throughout, while the black wool backing is clean and well preserved. Minor wear to the stitched end is entirely consistent with age and original use and does not detract from its overall presentation.
An outstanding original example of wartime SS insignia, ideal for the advanced collector, museum display, or the restoration of an original SS General’s tunic.
