The medal bar is professionally court mounted in the traditional German style with all awards correctly arranged in order of precedence. The combination reflects an individual who first served in the Imperial German Army during the Great War before continuing a lengthy career that culminated in qualification for the prestigious 25-Year Police Long Service Award, instituted in 1938 for members of the German police with twenty-five years of faithful service.
The final decoration retains its distinctive blue ribbon complete with embroidered police eagle device, while the earlier Imperial and First World War awards remain mounted on their original ribbons.
Please study the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
Court-mounted medal bars provide a fascinating snapshot of an individual’s military and civil service career. This example charts the progression of its original owner from First World War combat service, recognised by the 1914 Iron Cross and Hindenburg Cross, through Imperial long service, before ultimately serving long enough within the German police to earn the 25-Year Police Long Service Cross. Such coherent groups offer excellent historical interest and display appeal, making them highly desirable additions to collections of German militaria.
