An original Second World War German Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) 1939, complete with its original black presentation case and full-length ribbon. This is a well-preserved cased example, retaining a crisp silver frame and black magnetic iron core with sharp detailing throughout.
The award features the iconic 1939 design, with a swastika to the centre of the obverse above the date 1939, while the reverse carries the traditional 1813 date. The suspension ring is maker marked “93”, identifying production by Richard Simm & Söhne of Gablonz an der Neisse, a respected wartime manufacturer whose awards are well regarded by collectors.
The medal is housed in its correct black leatherette presentation case with cream satin and velvet-style interior. The case remains in very good condition with only light age-related wear and still contains its original full-length ribbon neatly secured beneath the lid retaining straps.
A superb original cased Iron Cross by a desirable maker, ideal for collectors of German militaria or anyone seeking an authentic wartime award.
The Iron Cross remains in very good original condition, with an attractive silvered frame showing light age-related toning and a well-preserved black core. The suspension ring is clearly stamped with the maker code “93”. The presentation case is clean and structurally sound with minor wear consistent with age, while the interior remains tidy and retains the original ribbon.
