The die-struck oak leaf displays crisp detail throughout. The veins, acorns and edges remain sharp, while the original silvered finish has developed an attractive age-related patina. Furthermore, the original attachment prongs remain secure and undisturbed.
The black velvet facing remains clean and well preserved. Likewise, the twisted bullion border is complete and firmly attached. The reverse retains its original buckram stiffener and cloth backing, showing honest age and period wear without evidence of restoration.
Please note: Based on its construction, this insignia is attributed as an Original NSKK Collar Tab. However, similar senior leader insignia were also worn by the National Socialist Flyers Corps (NSFK). Therefore, it is best described as NSKK / NSFK unless supported by documented provenance.
The National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) trained drivers, mechanics and transport specialists before and during the Second World War. Many members later supported military transport units and logistical operations across occupied Europe.
Similarly, the National Socialist Flyers Corps (NSFK) trained civilian pilots, glider instructors and aviation personnel. Consequently, both organisations played an important role in Germany’s military preparation.
Senior leaders wore distinctive collar tabs featuring silver oak leaves to indicate rank and authority. Because relatively few senior leaders served within these organisations, an Original NSKK Collar Tab is considerably scarcer than lower-ranking insignia.
