The ribbon bar remains in excellent original condition and displays an appealing, untouched patina. Furthermore, each ribbon retains strong colour, while the reverse still carries its original black wool backing with the full-length steel pin, confirming period manufacture.
This ribbon bar comprises four awards:
The first ribbon carries the SS Long Service Award device, consisting of the silver SS runes mounted on the distinctive blue ribbon. This award recognised faithful service within the Schutzstaffel and remains one of the most sought-after ribbon devices among collectors of SS insignia.
The second ribbon displays the silver police eagle device mounted upon the blue Police Long Service ribbon. This award recognised long and faithful service within the Ordnungspolizei and other German police organisations. The aluminium eagle remains crisp, with excellent detail throughout.
