More about the product
TeNo Sleeve Badge – Wehrmacht Heer BeVo InsigniaA TeNo sleeve badge in cream on dark green, retaining its full rectangular backing. The woven design shows the TN monogram inside a cogwheel, enclosed by an oval oak-leaf wreath. This is the pattern associated with former Technische Nothilfe members serving in the Wehrmacht Heer. Helmut Weitze lists a
matching BeVo-woven sleeve insignia under that identification.
Weave and backing
The design forms part of the cloth itself. It has the flat surface and contrasting reverse threads associated with the loom-woven construction collectors call BeVo. The cream motif stands clearly against the dark green ground.Loose threads remain at the upper and lower edges. The surrounding cloth has not been cut down to the outline of the wreath, so both the finished design and the production backing can be examined. The second photograph shows the reverse of the same badge. Its thread floats give the design an inverted appearance; this is not a second colour version. No maker’s mark or RZM label is visible.
Condition
The badge is catalogued as unissued and untrimmed. The photographs show a complete rectangular backing, strong colour contrast and light creasing. There is no visible evidence of attachment to a uniform in those views.Preserve the loose production threads and surrounding cloth. Cutting the backing to the oval design would remove part of the object’s surviving manufacturing detail.
Identification notes
The TN emblem refers to the Technische Nothilfe. Although it uses that organisation’s symbol, this sleeve pattern is identified with former members in Army service rather than with a standard TeNo organisational uniform.Construction, reverse weave and proportions should be compared together. The untrimmed backing supports the catalogue’s unissued description, but an assessment of age should also consider the fibres and weave under magnification.
