NSKOV Membership Badge with Miniature Stickpin

This NSKOV badge with miniature stickpin brings together two sizes of the organisation’s membership emblem. The larger badge accompanies a smaller stickpin version, allowing collectors to compare the design and detail of both forms. Both pieces show an oval oak-leaf wreath surrounding an upright sword. An Iron Cross motif sits across the sword, with a circular swastika emblem at its centre. The sword blade extends above the wreath, while the textured grip and rounded pommel complete the lower section.

Badge construction and reverse markings

The larger badge has a pierced design, with openings between the central emblem and surrounding wreath. Its reverse carries a vertical wire pin and retaining catch. The photographs also show the stamped abbreviation GES. GESCH., meaning gesetzlich geschützt, or legally protected.Additional lettering appears along the opposite edge, although it remains too faint in these photographs for a firm maker attribution. The miniature repeats the principal design on a smaller scale.

Condition of the badge and miniature

Both pieces retain visible detail to the oak leaves, sword and central emblem. Their silver-coloured surfaces show darker toning in the recessed areas and brighter wear across raised sections. The reverse of the larger badge also shows surface marks and uneven colouring. The photographs illustrate the condition of the individual pieces and the difference in their sizes. Please examine these images closely when assessing the finish, markings and construction.
