€ 385
An excellent original Third Reich Police 25-Year Long Service Cross (Polizei-Dienstauszeichnung, 1st Class), complete with its original presentation case. Instituted on 30 January 1938, this prestigious decoration was awarded to members of the German Police who had completed 25 years of faithful and exemplary service.
The gilt-finished cross retains an attractive bright finish with crisp detail to both obverse and reverse. The obverse features the national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, while the reverse bears the inscription “Für treue Dienste in der Polizei” (“For Faithful Service in the Police”). The medal is suspended from its original blue ribbon, complete with the correct embroidered Police eagle device.
The award is housed in its original green presentation case, embossed to the lid with a gilt “25” within an oak leaf wreath. The interior remains clean and well preserved, providing an attractive display for the medal.
A desirable and increasingly difficult-to-find cased long service award, ideal for the advanced collector of German Police or Third Reich awards.
The medal remains in excellent original condition, retaining virtually all of its gilt finish with sharp detail throughout. The original ribbon is clean and complete with its correct embroidered Police eagle device. The presentation case is in very good condition with only light age-related wear and minor marks consistent with careful storage. Overall, this is a well-preserved and attractive cased example.
A fine original cased example of one of the Third Reich’s most attractive and sought-after Police long service decorations.
