Original WKC Government Official Dagger by WKC Solingen

An Authentic Third Reich Government Official’s Dagger

This original WKC Government Official Dagger was manufactured by Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie. (WKC) of Solingen, one of Germany’s most respected edged weapon makers. Renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, WKC produced ceremonial daggers for military and government organisations throughout the Third Reich period. Today, original examples remain highly desirable among collectors because of their quality, historical importance and enduring appeal.

This dagger survives in very good original condition and retains the distinctive features expected from an authentic WKC Government Official Dagger.

Original Artificial Mother-of-Pearl Grip

The dagger retains its original artificial mother-of-pearl grip, which has acquired a pleasing age-related patina over more than eighty years. The grip remains free from cracks, chips and repairs, making it an excellent example of its type.

Equally impressive are the original fittings. The pommel and Government eagle crossguard retain an untouched period finish with honest age. Moreover, the finely detailed eagle remains crisp, while the central swastika is well defined. Together, these features demonstrate the high manufacturing standards associated with WKC Solingen.

Bright WKC Knight’s Head Blade

The polished steel blade carries the desirable WKC Knight’s Head trademark, confirming manufacture by the famous Solingen firm. The blade remains bright and attractive with much of its original finish still present.

Naturally, the blade displays scattered areas of light age spotting and minor staining. However, these marks are entirely consistent with careful preservation and long-term storage. The blade tip remains intact, and the edge has not been noticeably altered.

Original Hammered Scabbard

The matching scabbard retains its original hammered finish with an attractive pebbled texture. It remains in very good condition and shows only light handling wear.

Both decorative oak-leaf suspension bands remain securely fitted to the scabbard. In addition, each retains its original carrying ring, preserving the dagger’s authenticity and display appeal.

A Desirable Collector’s Piece

Original WKC Government Official Daggers continue to attract serious collectors because they combine outstanding craftsmanship with genuine historical significance. Furthermore, examples that retain their original grip, blade, fittings and scabbard are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

Whether displayed as part of an advanced edged weapon collection or included within a broader collection of historical artefacts, this dagger offers exceptional originality, attractive condition and excellent investment potential.
