This dagger retains its double-edged, nickel-plated steel blade, which remains bright and attractive. The blade bears the maker’s trademark E. & F. Hörster, Solingen oval logo and shows only light age-related marks consistent with careful storage. The edge and tip remain excellent.
The distinctive orange celluloid grip is in very good condition, free from cracks or chips, with strong colour and pleasing ribbed detail. The crossguard retains the original Wehrmacht eagle and swastika design, while the pommel and ferrule remain crisp with good detail. The silver finish to the guard exhibits honest age wear and natural patina, adding to its period character.
The dagger is complete with its original hammered silver-finished scabbard, fitted with both suspension bands and hanging rings. The scabbard shows expected age-related wear, light rubbing and scattered surface patina, but remains straight and free from dents, making it an attractive original example.
